No traffic for pick up and drop off.

The City of London Corporation has launched a ‘School Street’ outside Charterhouse Square School in a bid to support children walking and cycling to and from the school, and reduce road danger during busy drop off and pick up times.

This means a small section of Charterhouse Square is closed for motor vehicle traffic between between 8.15 and 9.15 am, and again between 3 and 4 pm, Monday to Friday (except for Emergency services and refuse vehicles).

The opportunity to improve safety outside Charterhouse Square School was identified long before the pandemic but the School Street scheme adds the benefit of additional space for social distancing at the start and end of the school day.
